A Sea-Inspired Celebration
“We love you more than all the fish in the sea”
An elevated, sea-inspired celebration designed for a second life
For this intimate celebration, I designed an elevated, sea-inspired environment rooted in calming oceanic hues and natural textures. Strings of wooden beads and organic tones subtly nodded to tactile nursery elements, while a hand-painted coral reef served as the room’s focal point—later transitioning from event decor to permanent nursery art.
To add some whimsy, a playful display of plush animals and a sea-creature mobile bookended the space, designed to transition seamlessly from immersive decor to cherished gifts for the newborn. The floral arrangements were conceptualized as underwater 'scapes,' utilizing intricate textures to mimic reef life, housed in vessels that evoked a 'message in a bottle' nostalgia. The floral installations were repurposed into petite arrangements for guests to take home.
Reuse First: 100% of tableware, candles, frames, and vases were sourced from pre-owned and thrifted collections to minimize new production.
Sourcing with Intent: Linens, ribbons, and natural ropes were selected specifically for high-reusability in future events.
Art with Longevity: Focal pieces were hand-assembled to transition from event decor to permanent nursery installations.
Compost-Ready Endings: Floral elements were selected for their ability to be repurposed into petite arrangements for guests and eventually returned to the earth post-event.
